personaStories

Personas are used in design to establish an empathetic under-standing of the users you are designing for. They are fictional characters designers create based on research and observation. Personas help to understand people’s experiences, behaviours, needs, and values.

The task “personaStories” asks students to discuss a topic that is currently relevant to them, e.g. the Covid-19 pandemic. The topics can be chosen according to the school’s curriculum, happenings in the class, future events, or anything else that feels currently important to them. Different questions provide a starting point for a discussion that will help the students to engage with and better understand the topic. Based on the discussions, the students are asked to create a persona. Supported by the “beEmpathy” framework, they will explore the persona’s story. Eventually, the persona will represent the students’ experiences. “personaStories” helps them to express their thoughts and feelings and encourages a creative and informed dispute.
