and it’s me who’s behind beEmpathy. beEmpathy is my degree project of my Master studies in Design at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. It’s the result of both a theoretical and practical design research. A nine months long process that was led by the question: “How can design mediate empathy and emotional literacy among middle school children in order to foster creativity, intercultural competence, and complex identities?”.

Empathy was not only the desired outcome but also the driving spirit to get there. My projects have a huge focus on sustainable communication. They are based on curiosity and an open mind and I aim to conduct inclusive, participatory, and critical processes. beEmpathy not only completes my studies but also summarises what will continue to inspire me and my work in the future:

Design gives me the chance to rethink the status-quo and to contribute to

its improvement. Design allows me to support what’s important and urgently needed. I care. And so does design. With empathy it comes to life.
